Scabiosa Columbaria ‘Samantha’s Pink’ (Samantha’s Pink Pincushion Flower)

Scabiosa Columbaria ‘Samantha’s Pink’ (Samantha’s Pink Pincushion Flower) is a compact, long-flowering perennial that produces masses of soft pink, pincushion-shaped blooms held above finely textured green foliage. Flowering from spring through autumn, it adds a delicate cottage-garden look to borders, rockeries, mass plantings and containers. The flowers are especially attractive to butterflies and other pollinators, and they also perform well as cut flowers for arrangements. 

Hardy, fast growing and relatively easy to maintain, ‘Samantha’s Pink’ thrives in full sun and moist but well-drained soil. Once established it is reasonably dry tolerant, making it useful for waterwise gardens, although prolonged periods of extreme heat may require supplementary watering. Removing spent blooms encourages further flowering, while a light trim after the main flush helps maintain a neat, compact shape.
