Sedum ‘Tokyo Sun’ – Golden Stonecrop

Sedum ‘Tokyo Sun’ (Sedum japonicum) is a vibrant, mat-forming succulent ground cover prized for its bright golden-yellow foliage. Its compact growth habit keeps it below approximately 8cm tall, while the stems spread and mound extensively across well-drained soil, creating a colourful low-growing carpet.

The vivid yellow foliage develops its strongest colour in direct sunlight and gradually turns greener when grown in shade. During summer, the plant produces abundant golden, star-shaped flowers that add extra interest and can attract pollinators.

‘Tokyo Sun’ is drought tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance. It is particularly effective in containers, rock gardens, succulent displays and as a colourful ground cover. In cooler climates, it can be overwintered indoors as it has limited cold tolerance.
