Strelitzia reginae ‘Mandela’s Gold’ – Golden Bird of Paradise

Strelitzia reginae ‘Mandela’s Gold’ is a striking evergreen, clump-forming perennial prized for its dramatic tropical foliage and distinctive bird-like flowers. This stemless variety produces strong, grey-green, banana-like leaves that reach approximately 1.5m in height, creating a bold architectural presence in the garden.

During winter and spring, spectacular flowers rise above the foliage on long, sturdy stems. The unusual flower structure resembles the head of a brightly coloured bird, with a hard, beak-like spathe holding several flowers that emerge one at a time.
