Tetratheca thymifolia – Native Shrub

Tetratheca thymifolia is a charming Australian native shrub that forms a compact, upright habit with numerous slender branches. Growing to around 50cm tall, it is valued for its delicate foliage and graceful bell-shaped flowers that appear from late winter through spring.

The small leaves are arranged in distinctive rings of three to five around the stems and have a softly hairy upper surface. During flowering, slender stalks emerge from the leaf axils, carrying pendulous mauve flowers that hang elegantly like tiny bells. White-flowered forms are also relatively common in cultivation, providing an alternative colour option.

Its compact size and delicate appearance make Tetratheca thymifolia a lovely choice for native gardens, rockeries, borders and smaller garden spaces.
