Xanthorrhoea glauca (Blue Grass Tree) is a distinctive Australian native known for its striking blue green foliage that forms a dense symmetrical crown. Over time it develops a textured trunk that enhances its sculptural presence making it a valuable feature plant in native and contemporary landscapes. Its architectural form provides year round visual interest and complements both gravel and naturalistic garden designs.
Thriving in full sun and very well drained soils this hardy species adapts to sandy and low nutrient conditions once established. It produces tall creamy flower spikes during the warmer months which attract birds and beneficial insects. With a deep anchored root system and slow growth rate it requires minimal maintenance and suits rock gardens dry landscapes and feature planting positions.
